The Hot Wheels Movie Has Found it’s Writers

The still untitled Hot Wheels movie, long in production, finally has a writing team. Warner Brothers has hired the screen writing duo of Neil Widener and Gavin James to pen the script for the live-action feature.

Warner Brothers had put out a call for writers to pitch a treatment, and Widener and James beat out several more established players. No details of the pitch have been released.

Widener and James do not have any produced credits on their resume yet, but they have already generated buzz working on on sequels to San Andreas and Now You See Me 3. They have also partnered with Columbia for a Romeo & Juliet retelling titled, Verona.
