The House Show SNME Episode 11: WrestleMania III Fallout

It just wouldn’t be pro wrestling without some controversy. This eleventh edition of WWF Saturday Night’s Main Event took place April 28, 1987 (aired May 2) at the Edmond P. Joyce Center in Notre Dame, Illinois for 9,345 fans excited to see the WrestleMania III fallout and what happens next.

Hulk Hogan is still champion, but Bobby “the Brain” Heenan and Andre the Giant have camera footage to dispute that. Ricky “the Dragon” Steamboat is the new Intercontinental champion but a heated “Macho Man” Randy Savage isn’t going to walk off into the sunset. Then a two out of three falls match for the WWF tag team titles that excites and angers not only the fans in attendance, but your trios tag team champions decades later.

All of that official in ring action plus the tangents that we are known for. Proper behavior for lumberjacks. Where is Hogan? We break down “American Badass” version of Jim Duggan. Will the Savage/Steele feud ever end? Who is the real Kim Chee? An ACL update. Plus Kevin’s tale of how smut saved his life.

Saturday Night’s Main Event 11 matches include:

  • Kamala (with Kim Chee and Mr Fuji) vs Jake “the Snake” Roberts.
  • Randy Savage (with Miss Elizabeth) vs George “the Animal” Steele in a Lumberjack match.
  • The British Bulldogs (with Tito Santana) vs The Hart Foundation (Tag team champions) (with Jimmy Hart) in a two out of three falls match.
  • Ricky Steamboat (Intercontinental champion) vs Hercules (with Bobby Heenan)
  • The Can Am Connection (Rick Martel and Tom Zenk) (with Jim Duggan) vs Iron Skeik and Nikolai Volkoff (with Slick)

The Retro Network’s own Kevin Decent (@MaskedLibrary) along with his two best friends “Sweet” Matty Treats (@MattyTreats) and Matt “the Educator of Excellence” began The House Show by reviewing WWF’s In Your House pay per view events over the course of the worldwide quarantine. Next, they covered all of the WCW Halloween Havoc events finishing out 2020. Now in 2021, they will be going back to WWF for all the Saturday Night’s Main Event shows. This trios team has been watching wrestling all their lives and debating the outcomes since high school. Invite them in your house each week for the main episode on Thursdays and The Run In on Mondays.
