The House Show 22 – WWF Over the Edge In Your House

The In Your House series may be nearing it’s conclusion but your Trios Tag Team champions are not done with this trip down wrestling memory lane. The 1998 WWF Over the Edge In Your House event is mostly forgotten and we are here to rectify that.

Your hosts, along with just shy of 10,000 fans are watching the May 31, 1998 event live from the Wisconsin Center Arena in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The Austin era is here. Mr McMahon is becoming the biggest heel in wrestling. The Attitude Era continues to rise in popularity and controversy. Those in charge want a champion to be proud of instead of the vulgar anti authority Stone Cold Steve Austin. The kind of champion worthy of a ten minute introduction. If you have not watched a single WWF pay per view alongside of us, we guarantee this will be the one to draw you in. Or your podcast money back.

Speaking of money and expenses. We debate what happened to WWF beanie babies. Who is protecting the Legion of Doom’s legacy? We fantasy book Steve Blackman. Question the need for Tennessee Lee. Pitch a Paul Bearer action figure. Then follow it all up with the greatest ring introductions ever. We were surprised by this show and you’ll be amazed how this late in the series event ranks.

WWF Over the Edge In Your House matches include:

  • LOD 2000 (Animal and Hawk) (with Droz and Sunny) vs The Disciples of Apocalypse (8-Ball and Skull) (with Chainz).
  • Jeff Jarrett (with Tennessee Lee) vs Steve Blackman.
  • Marc Mero vs Sable.
  • Kaientai (Dick Togo, Men’s Teioh and Sho Funaki) (with Yamaguchi-san) vs Justin Bradshaw and Taka Michinoku in a Handicap Match.
  • The Rock (WWF Intercontinental champion) vs Faarooq.
  • Kane (with Paul Bearer) vs Vader in a Mask vs Mask match.
  • The Nation (D’Lo Brown, Kama Mustafa and Owen Hart) (with Mark Henry) vs D-Generation X (Billy Gunn, Road Dogg and Triple H) (with Chyna and X-Pac).
  • Stone Cold Steve Austin (WWF Champion) vs Dude Love in a Falls Count Anywhere match with Mr McMahon as the special guest referee.

The Retro Network’s own Kevin Decent (@MaskedLibrary) along with his two best friends “Sweet” Matty Treats (@MattyTreats) and Matt “the Educator of Excellence” are revisiting the WWF’s In Your House pay per view events over the course of the worldwide quarantine. This trios team has been watching wrestling all their lives and debating the outcomes since high school. Join them each week for a new podcast and invite them in your house.
