The House Show 015 – WWF In Your House: Canadian Stampede

This is one of the big ones, fans. From the inception of this series your hosts and fellow listeners anxiously awaited discussing the WWF In Your House: Canadian Stampede pay per view event. Arguably the hottest crowd in WWF history. Reactions so loud they literally, not figuratively, shake the building. At the height of WWF’s Hart Foundation vs the United States feud this event is held north of the border. Taking place July 6, 1997 from the Canadian Airlines Saddledome in Calgary, Alberta, Canada in front of over 12,000 of the most passionate fans you’ll ever hear.

Bret Hart returned to the WWF and found a changed landscape. Fans were behind a foul mouthed rebel by the name of Stone Cold Steve Austin. Bret blamed the disrespectful bloodthirsty culture of America. In one of the most creative ideas in wrestling history Bret and the rest of the Hart Foundation were the biggest villains in the United States and cheered as heroes in every other country.

In other action, two future world champions battle it out. The WWF begins to toy with a light heavyweight division to counter WCW’s cruiserweights. The Undertaker’s original challenger for tonight’s World title match is injured, so who do they call as a replacement?
