We here at Geekster Media are proud to announce that a new podcast will be gracing our airways beginning Monday, July 29th called So You Want To Be A Geek.
So You Want To Be A Geek is a podcast designed to redefine what it means to be a geek today and beyond. We will explore all sorts of topics that people are “geeky” about. We will look at topics like pop, culture, comics, movies, technology, sports, fitness, and everything in between. We also like to call the podcast SYWTBAG for short.
The goal of the podcast is to try and bring people together through mutual passions and geekiness. Being a geek in this day and age means something totally different than it did 30 years ago. The hope is that it will be a space where people can learn new things as well as embrace their geeky fandoms.
Each episode we will explore a completely different topic. Some topics will be things that I am geeky about and others will be things that are totally out of my knowledge and comfort zone. As a content creator, filmmaker, writer, producer, editor, and professor, I have years of experience, exploring all types of genres and passions, and I look to bring that to the world. With over 20 years of experience in media and technology this has been a passion project of mine since 2009. It has been sitting in the back of my mind and finally through the Gangster Media platform I am able to bring it to the world.
Our pilot episode will be focused on tattoos and tattoo culture as well as the industry. Our first two guests have a combined 50 years of experience as tattoo artists. Bill Keithley has been a tattoo artist for 30 years and we were lucky to meet with him while doing a Guest Spot at Wyld Chyld Tattoo in Merrick NY before he hit the road to Sturges for two weeks of tattooing at the world’s largest motorcycle rally. Bill has fans and clients who come to see him from around the world. Our second guest is Kristen Goetz, owner and tattoo artist at Palo Santo Tattoo in Sayville NY. Kristen has over 20 years experience tattooing and has followers all over the country. They will provide me with some amazing stories and unique perspectives on the industry, the art, and so much more.
Coming up will be interviewing the owners of a hugely successful CrossFit company, a master in 3D printing, Vintage clothing collectors and resellers, entrepreneurs in the yoga industry, Magic The Gathering professionals, D and D Dungeon Masters, and so much more.
