MeTV Releases Svengoolie’s January 2026 Lineup, Featuring Mummies, Monsters, and a Mid‑Air Haunting

MeTV has announced the January 2026 schedule for Svengoolie Classic Horror & Sci‑Fi Movie, unveiling a month of retro scares that range from cursed relics to kaiju clashes. The weekly lineup, airing Saturdays at 8 p.m. EST, features a mix of classic horror, cult favorites, and modern supernatural thrillers hosted by Svengoolie and the Sven Squad.

The network is kicking off the new year with five films spanning nearly six decades of genre history.

January 3 — Blood from the Mummy’s Tomb (1971)
The month opens with Hammer’s Blood from the Mummy’s Tomb, a tale of an evil Egyptian queen whose disturbed slumber unleashes deadly consequences. The production is remembered not only for its strong reviews relative to other Hammer mummy titles, but also for its troubled shoot, which included the departure of Peter Cushing after one day and the sudden death of director Seth Holt. Michael Carreras completed the film.

January 10 — The Skull (1965)
Christopher Lee and Peter Cushing headline this British horror story about a cursed skull said to belong to the Marquis de Sade. Adapted from a short story by Psycho author Robert Bloch, the film follows the object’s sinister influence on its owners. The real-life skull of de Sade was also exhumed and remains missing.

January 17 — Flight 7500 (2014)
Svengoolie shifts to modern horror with Takashi Shimizu’s supernatural thriller set aboard a commercial flight plagued by a malevolent presence. The cast includes Leslie Bibb, Amy Smart, Jerry Ferrara, and Ryan Kwanten.

January 24 — King Kong vs. Godzilla (1962)
The original showdown between cinema’s most famous giant monsters returns to MeTV. The film marked the first time Toho featured King Kong, though the concept began as a proposed Kong‑versus‑Frankenstein project by animator Willis O’Brien before evolving into the now‑iconic kaiju matchup.

January 31 — War of the Colossal Beast (1958)
The month concludes with this atomic‑era creature feature involving mysterious food‑truck disappearances in Mexico and a monstrous figure with a tragic human past. The story escalates to a dramatic confrontation at Los Angeles’ Griffith Observatory.

MeTV’s Svengoolie lineup continues to serve as a showcase for classic and cult horror, offering viewers a weekly dose of genre history throughout 2026.
