The classic X-Men of ’90s cartoon form are returning with all new episodes on Disney+ in a new series called X-Men ’97. Marvel Animation’s “X-Men’97” revisits the iconic era of the 1990s as The X-Men, a band of mutants who use their uncanny gifts to protect a world that hates and fears them, are challenged like never before, forced to face a dangerous and unexpected new future.
The trailer reveals how the X-Men pick up the pieces following the apparent death of Professor X at the end of the original, much-loved ‘90s animated show. Several original cast members return, including Cyclops, Wolverine, Gambit, Storm, Bishop, Beast, and Rogue. In Professor X’s absence, Cyclops appears to be in charge, until Magneto turns up with a claim on everything Charles Xavier owned.
The series is scheduled to drop on Disney+ on March 20, 2024.
