The Retro Network Summer Camp 2022 presented by Old Time Candy opens June 20 and is sure to be the event of the summer. There will be a lot of fun to be had by all, and nostalgia will be at the center of it all.

For two weeks, The Retro Network will play host to several summer-themed content events. There will be new summer nostalgia features to enjoy, as well as some special videos premiering on TRNTV. In addition to that, keep your ears open for retro summer-themed editions of your favorite podcasts on The Retro Network. There will also be plenty of summer fun to be had across the TRN social media channels on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram. A schedule of events will be released soon.

One of the main highlights of the event will be our writing contest. We’re giving everyone a chance to join in on the fun by writing their own essay/article with a theme of summer nostalgia, with prizes being awarded for the top 3 entries!

Prizes to be Awarded:

• 1st Place: $75 Amazon gift card, lunchbox of penny candy from Old Time Candy
• 2nd Place: $25 Amazon gift card, lunchbox of penny candy from Old Time Candy
• 3rd Place: TRN Gift Pack, lunchbox of penny candy from Old Time Candy

All you have to do to enter is write your own essay/article that is based on summer nostalgia and submit it. A panel of judges will determine the winners, and they will be announced at the end of the two-week event. All entries will be published on The Retro Network, and will be promoted across our social media channels, so if you’re a fledgling writer, this is also a chance to get exposed to a new audience!

Guidelines For Entry

• The essay/article needs to be summer nostalgia in nature. Maybe you want to reminisce about an old summer vacation, what the summer days of your youth were like, the last day of school, the 4th of July, old theme parks, a review of a summer blockbuster from years ago, a passive piece about something summer related like water guns or Slip and Slide, a list, or whatever else you fondly remember about summer.
• The essay/article submitted needs to be original, and not published before.
• The essay/article needs to be at least 500 words in length.
• You aren’t limited to only one entry. The more essays/articles you submit, the more chances you have to win.
• The Retro Network will publish the essay/article, and it will remain on our site permanently.
• TRN is a family-friendly site, so PG-13 is our max rating for publishing. Please refrain from adult themes and language.
• Adding in photos is not only allowed, but highly encouraged!
• Feel free to publicize yourself at the end of your submission. Advertise where you can be found online!
• TRN reserves the right to do minor editing for spelling and grammar.
• The deadline for entry is June 19. Essays and articles will begin going live for the world to see on June 20, 2022
