Peeps Is Rolling Out a New Flavor That’s Sure To Get a Reaction From ’90s Kids

Peeps is kicking off Easter season early with a new nostalgic flavor that’s generating major buzz among fans of ’90s snacks. This week, food blogger Markie Devo announced on Instagram that SunnyD‑flavored Peeps have begun appearing on Target shelves.

“SUNNY D PEEPS!! Be still, my 90’s heart!” Devo wrote in his post, adding that the marshmallows are “flavored with original Sunny D.” He noted that it’s unclear whether the product is a Target exclusive.

The announcement quickly drew strong reactions across social media. On Instagram, many users expressed excitement over the citrus‑inspired twist, with comments ranging from “I must try these!” to “OK, these actually sound so good.” Others were more hesitant, unsure how the combination of Peeps and SunnyD would taste. One user simply remarked, “Peeps in December is wild.”

The response on Facebook was even more animated. Several commenters celebrated the news, calling the collaboration “the best” and saying they planned to try the new flavor even if they weren’t typically Peeps fans. But not everyone was convinced. Some users dismissed the idea as unappealing, with reactions including “Sounds disgusting,” “I don’t know about this,” and a blunt series of nauseated emojis.

One Facebook follower who had already sampled the product offered a mixed review, saying the Peeps were “all right” but admitted the remaining dozen in the package would likely go uneaten.

The SunnyD Peeps are expected to roll out more widely as Easter approaches, though availability may vary by store.
