The iconic 1980s sci-fi action series Knight Rider is making a high-octane comeback. Starting July 22, 2025, fans can own Knight Rider: The Complete Series in stunning 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray, marking the first time the beloved show has been fully remastered in ultra-high definition.
Starring David Hasselhoff as the leather-jacketed vigilante Michael Knight and featuring the unforgettable voice of William Daniels as KITT, the artificially intelligent, turbo-boosting Pontiac Trans Am, the series originally aired from 1982 to 1986, spanning 90 episodes across four seasons. This new 4K release includes every episode, plus a treasure trove of extras that will thrill longtime fans and newcomers alike.
The 4K Blu-ray collection comes packed with:
- All 90 episodes remastered in native 4K resolution
- The 1991 made-for-TV movie Knight Rider 2000, originally intended as a reboot pilot
- A brand-new, hour-long documentary titled Knight Rider: Behind the Wheel, featuring interviews with cast and crew, behind-the-scenes stories, and a deep dive into the showโs cultural impact
- Additional commentary tracks, including insights from Hasselhoff himself
Knight Rider followed Michael Knight, a field agent for the Foundation for Law and Government (FLAG), who teamed up with KITT to fight crime across the country. With its blend of futuristic tech, high-speed stunts, and a synth-heavy theme song that still slaps, the show became a pop culture phenomenon.
This 4K release is more than just a nostalgia trip, itโs a celebration of the showโs enduring influence. From inspiring spin-offs like Team Knight Rider and Knight Rider 2010 to spiritual successors like Viper, the series helped define the โcool carโ genre of television.
Knight Rider: The Complete Series is available for preorder now on Amazon for $130, with a release date of July 22, 2025. It joins a growing list of classic shows getting the 4K treatment, offering fans a chance to experience the series like never before.
