The entertainment world continues to mourn the loss of Dolly Parton, who passed away on August 24, 2026. Her death came only days after she shared a video message reassuring fans that she was doing well and hoped to return soon. In honor of her life, legacy, and decades of influence, MeTV has announced a special block of Dolly‑focused programming airing Sunday, August 30, beginning at 5 pm ET/PT.

The tribute will feature two specials celebrating the country music icon, including the 2024 documentary Big Hair, Bigger Heart and an episode of MeTV’s original series Collector’s Call spotlighting the world’s largest private collection of Dolly Parton memorabilia.

MeTV’s Dolly Parton Tribute Lineup

5 pm – Dolly Parton: Big Hair, Bigger Heart (2024) This biographical documentary explores Dolly’s rise from humble Tennessee roots to international stardom. The film highlights her music, acting career, business ventures, and her long history of philanthropy. Known for her positivity, signature style, and generosity, Dolly built a legacy that touched fans around the world.

6 pm – Collector’s Call – “Meet Harrell Gabehart: Dolly Parton” (2020) This episode features Patric Parkey and Harrell Gabehart, owners of the largest known private Dolly Parton collection. Their home contains an astonishing array of items, including bedroom furniture from Dolly’s personal Dollywood suite, clothing and shoes she wore, her banjo, and even an autographed courtroom sketch from a copyright case in the 1980s. Appraiser Judy Martin evaluates the collection and attempts a Dolly‑for‑Dolly trade, leading to a surprise message from Dolly herself.

MeTV’s tribute offers fans a chance to celebrate Dolly’s life, artistry, and impact during a moment when her absence is felt across the entertainment world.
