Today, June 1st, marks seven years since The Retro Network first flipped the switch and welcomed readers into a world built from memories, mixtapes, Saturday morning cereal bowls, and everything wonderfully analog. Seven years of stories. Seven years of rediscovering the things that shaped us. Seven years of proving that nostalgia isn’t about looking back. It’s about carrying the best parts of the past forward.
What started as a simple idea, the idea that we should build a home for people who still love the stuff they grew up with, has grown into a full on community. A place where old commercials still matter, where forgotten toys get their second spotlight, where TV theme songs live rent free in our heads, and where personal memories sit right alongside pop culture deep dives.
Over the years, TRN has become a scrapbook made by many hands. Articles, podcasts, videos, personal essays, shared memories, and the kind of conversations you can only have with people who remember the exact shade of green on the Ecto Cooler box. Every contributor, every reader, every comment, and every shared link has helped build this place into something that feels like home.
Seven years is a long time on the internet. Nostalgia ages well. It gets richer. It gets warmer. It gets more meaningful as the world speeds up around us. That’s why TRN still matters. It gives us a place to slow down and reconnect with the things that made us who we are.
