New Flintstones Film in the Works With Ryan Gosling as Grown‑Up Bamm‑Bamm

Ryan Gosling and producing partner Jessie Henderson are developing a new live‑action Flintstones feature at Warner Bros that would center on a grown‑up Bamm‑Bamm Rubble. The project is in its early stages and the pair are currently searching for a writer.

Bamm‑Bamm has appeared as an adult before. The character was reimagined as a teenager in the 1971 to 1972 CBS animated series The Pebbles and Bamm‑Bamm Show, where he dated Pebbles, attended Bedrock High School, worked his first job, and even formed a band called the Bedrock Rockers. Fred and Wilma Flintstone and Barney and Betty Rubble made occasional appearances throughout the series.

The Flintstones franchise has been adapted for live‑action twice. The 1994 film starred John Goodman, Rick Moranis, Elizabeth Perkins, and Rosie O’Donnell, while the 2000 prequel Viva Rock Vegas featured Mark Addy, Stephen Baldwin, Kristen Johnston, and Jane Krakowski. Together, the two films earned more than $400 million worldwide.

Gosling and Henderson are also producers on the upcoming romantic drama Love of Your Life, directed by Rachel Morrison and set to premiere next month at the Toronto Film Festival. Gosling recently scored a major hit with Amazon MGM Studios’ Project Hail Mary, which grossed $684 million globally and is expected to mount an awards campaign. He is also reteaming with director Shawn Levy on Marvel’s 2028 reboot of Ghost Rider following their work on Star Wars: Starfighter.

Talks continue between Gosling, Margot Robbie, Greta Gerwig, Mattel, and Warner Bros regarding a sequel to Barbie, which became the studio’s highest‑grossing film with $1.44 billion worldwide. Gosling also starred in and produced Universal’s action film The Fall Guy.
