A new Castlevania inspired game is coming to a console near you!
It should come as no surprise that I’m a big fan of Castlevania. Since the first game hit the Nintendo Entertainment System I was hooked. Playing Simon Belmont with his trusty whip, the Vampire Killer hunting Dracula was all I needed to while away a cold, snowy afternoon.
Thirty eight years later and Castlevania is still going strong. There are over 30 games, comic books, a toy line and an animated series in the franchise.
I haven’t played anywhere close to all 30 games. I have played my fair share though. The original game holds a special place in my heart but there are others that came along to knock it out of the top spot.
Simon’s Quest, Dracula’s Curse and Rondo of Blood all all strong contenders. But I think the best game in the series is Symphony of the Night.
The original release of Symphony of the Night in 1997 was a great game and was named ‘Game of the Year’ by Electronic Gaming Monthly. The iOS version of Symphony of the Night is even better!
Retroware, the makers of modern, retro style games is making a Castlevania inspired game titled The Transylvania Adventure of Simon Quest. They now have a great trailer showing the game and the gameplay.
The Transylvania Adventure of Simon Quest is slated for release in 2025 on Steam, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation, Xbox, and Epic. Check out the website Simon Quest for updates.
