TRN Talk – Streaming Scheme Fall Preview 2019

The Retro Network’s talk show podcast series returns with Streaming Scheme Fall Preview 2019, a fun look at streaming television and retro content in particular that you can find in the upcoming Fall season. Jason (@RD80s) and Mickey (@yesterdayville) of the TRN Podcast will give you what you need to know in the growing “streaming vs. cable” war, current and upcoming subscription services, and a fun batch of free channels we recommend from a retro perspective.

First, we’ll let you know our streaming setup as “cord cutters” and how we watch television. We’ll give you some stats about why streaming households are trending up and traditional cable subscribers are trending down. Then, we’ll dive into the current scene, breaking down popular pay channels like Netflix, Hulu, Amazon. We’ll also discuss upcoming services like Disney+, HBO Max, and Apple TV+ and what content they’ll have to offer this Fall. Finally, we’ll talk about free channels that have grabbed our retro attention including Tubi, Crackle, Vudu, Roku, and Pluto TV.

While we express our opinions and personal streaming setups, there are no official endorsements or sponsorships for any particular device, service or channel in this podcast.
