Recurrent Events: Streets of Rage 4 Release Date, HBO Perry Mason Reboot Trailer, Flamin’ Hot Doritos Locos Taco

The weekly Recurrent Events column features the latest retro pop culture headlines. Listen to Jason and Mickey go in depth on select stories in the upcoming TRN Podcast this Tuesday. Movies, TV, Food, Video Games, Music, Toys…we’ve got you covered on all the nostalgic stuff that matters to you.

The big story this week is Peacock and our first look at the newly rebooted Saved By the Bell and Punky Brewster. In one swoop, Peacock released trailers for these two shows and the Psych reboot. Mickey and I react to both Saved By the Bell and Punky Brewster on the podcast and I think it’s safe to say we were both pleasantly surprised. You may remember back in January we released a Peacock Streaming Guide but we will do you one better on the podcast this week. Mickey is a Comcast subscriber which means he has early access to the new Peacock app. He’ll be giving the rundown of all the retro content available now with a few notations of what is exactly free and what you’ll have to pay $5 to get. Peacock is now scheduled to drop nationwide on July 15.

Here are the Recurrent Events headlines for the week of April 12-18, 2020.
